Track soft 6 and rail true.

Race 1

5. Initiate is an honest Canberra mare that rates clear on top in a moderate maiden second-up. Was in and around the money in much better races last prep before a lengthy spell and wasted no time finding the zone upon resumption, charging home late to miss by under a length in a handy maiden at Albury. Handles all going, draws the fence and destined for better assignments. 6. Magic Iris is a second-up improver dropping from a much tougher provincial company. Watch for a better run from 7. Nafanua, which disappointed late second-up at Goulburn, with a drying track being a plus. 3. Deluce is lightly raced and can improve sharply second-up the more the track dries out. 4. Heeza Steve can run a race fresh off a quiet trial. 2. Kneel Down comes out of two placed efforts in very weak picnic company, but naturally afforded a significant weight drop.
How to play it: Initiate to win.

Race 2

2. The Glen hasn’t done much in two runs so far, although finishing under five lengths from a smart stablemate at Goulburn last start reads well for this line-up. Winkers go on and he’s suited over more ground. 6. Zippy Argento made up plenty of late ground when resuming and drew to get a soft run. 3. Edika is a Canberra stallion yet to find the money in three runs so far, but drawn better here in a race of less depth. 7. Closethedoordarcy is the best of the rest.
How to play it: The Glen to win.

Race 3

4. Tassalina is from the same Canberra stable as the on top selection in the opener and looks a smart filly in the making. Swept home from midfield to easily win her maiden on debut at Wagga, a superior jockey takes over and, despite a wide draw, she looks headed for much bigger targets than this. 3. Bosco hasn’t been far away in two runs since bolting in his maiden at Moruya. Drawn well and a track likely to recover back to near a soft five is well in his favour. Big watch on 7. Teepee Princess resuming for a shrewd country stable behind two progressive trials. 5. Outlaw Annie finally draws a decent barrier, but would still need to find a length or two to win this. 8. Molteuno and 10. Rita Red both go through trifecta and first four plays.
How to play it: Tassalina to win.

Race 4

Plenty of chances here over a middle distance headed by 4. Tartan Tiger, a progressive filly in the Bjorn Baker stable at Warwick Farm. Broke through at her third start leading all the way at Goulburn, already proven to be versatile and will take plenty of stopping. 1. Mr Tadashi improves third-up back on firmer footing. 7. Sir Sublime is gradually working towards an overdue third career win, although will need to get across from a wide gate early. 10. Special Prophet closed off well in weaker grade second-upm while home-track duo 11. Take The Chance, deep into the prep, and 8. Tavijewel, also very fit, can both figure in the minor money.
How to play it: Tartan Tiger to win.

Race 5

3. Curie is a lightly raced and talented filly from the Baker stable that looks to have this at her mercy. Ran home late when resuming in a handy maiden at Kembla before sweeping clear late to break through at Mudgee. Naturally up in weight, but she draws to get the right run and can continue on her merry way. 2. Brutal Eyes is another Canberra-based improver well placed second-up, with winkers going on. Capped a progressive campaign at home by winning a Class 1 over a mile in spring before a spell, then returned with a solid finishing effort at Nowra under 60kg. Significantly stays over the distance. Gap to the rest headed by 5. Toongi Bound, which comes back a furlong 23 days between runs. 4. Charlie Magic, deep into his prep, 6. Sir Lunchalots fifth-up and 8. Giza fourth-up can all add value into exotic plays.
How to play it: Curie to win.

Race 6

1. Glowing Rapids is a very honest five-year-old which has been in the money regularly since a dominant front-running BM 66 win four starts ago. Reliable weight carrier that gets an important 3kg claim, and this is the thinnest race he’s contested for a while. 3. Chico Casino hasn’t won for a while, but gets back up to a better trip and is drawn to get a soft run. 4. Crucial Witness fifth-up and 7. Cheap Shot second-up are both capable of finishing in the money.
How to play it: Glowing Rapids to win.

Race 7

6. Vicious Rumour is a capable Dubbo mare that has been in the placings across five runs since late last year, often hard in the market. After some near misses, finally broke through two starts ago, but failed to finish off on a bog track at Muswellbrook a month ago. Freshened up and back on a firmer surface are the big keys. 1. The Contractor steps up from a dominant third-up maiden win and draws to get an economical run on speed. 3. Hey Jude is another of the Baker team well placed in this company after a handy closing effort second-up at Kembla. 9. Splendid Magnus is an improving Canberra filly that swept home to land her maiden third-up, and has drawn the fence. 4. Frankie’s Shout, despite a wide draw, 7. Check Your Six, with blinkers back on, and 10. The Git Up, deep into his prep, are all knockout chances in a fairly wide race.
How to play it: Vicious Rumour to win.

Race 8

4. Desirous is a tough mare that hasn’t missed a place since late spring. Came off a break to miss narrowly here in a similar race before again just edged out late in a better sprint at Dubbo. Then again found one better after doing early work at Orange in heavy going. Back around a short course on a tighter track and on a firmer surface suits her pattern and she can lead them a merry dance and take her winning strike rate to nearly 20 per cent from 27 starts. 7. Xspiritous is a big threat third-up with a senior jockey taking over. 1. Cumnock came off a four-week break to scrape home in a BM 66 at Dubbo. 5. Falcon Gold is an honest on-speed sprinter right in the mix. 2. Oakey’s Choice has beaten all bar the winner in his last two against weaker opposition. 6. Brummagen has placed in his last three over short courses and 9. Miss Mikki Isle is fit enough and will find this easier than her last couple.
How to play it: Desirous to win.
