Officers attached to the Ku-Ring-Gai Police Area Command found a 14-year-old boy with stab wounds to his chest. He was treated by paramedics and taken to Westmead Children’s Hospital for further treatment.

The 14-year-old boy was allegedly stabbed by one teenager, who was part of a group of four other teenagers, while aboard a train.

The group of teenagers and the injured boy exited the train at Hornsby station after the alleged incident, where police have now established a crime scene.

The group of boys, including the one who allegedly stabbed the teenager, fled the scene.

Police are yet to locate the weapon, which the Herald was told was used to allegedly inflict more of a slash than a stab wound on the 14-year-old’s chest.

An investigation has been launched, and police are urging anyone with information or who may have witnessed the incident to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
