Good morning. As you can probably already feel, we’re in for a hot one.
At 7:30am, it’s 28 degrees in Sydney. By 2pm, the mercury will likely hit 43 degrees.
The Bureau of Meteorology has issued extreme heatwave warnings for Sydney as well as the Illawarra, South Coast, Southern Tablelands, Snowy Mountains, South West Slopes and Riverina districts.

Severe heatwave warnings are in place for the Hunter, Central Tablelands, Central West Slopes and Plains, Lower Western and Upper Western districts.
But heat is not the only danger. Hot dry, gust conditions have led to extreme fire warnings for the Greater Sydney Region, Illawarra/Shoalhaven, Monaro Alpine, Southern Ranges and Southern Slopes.
