Reports of a suspicious item in Brisbane’s CBD have led to police shutting off a major street shortly before 10am on Thursday.
Specialist officers shut down Ann Street between Wharf Street and Boundary Road, diverting cars and foot traffic away from the area.
The item was found on the footpath on the southern side of Ann Street.
Within the hour, half-dozen officers worked to move a bus away from the location of the item.
Paramedics arrived at the scene about 11.15am on standby for police.
About 10 police cars attended the scene, with officers stationed in front of St John’s Cathedral and the intersection of Queen Street.
