Selections based on a good track

Race 1

2. Ridgeback had two starts in August before having a break. He had two trials before returning to racing with a second at Hawkesbury and should be improved by that run. The step up to 1600m should suit. 8. Polo finished second at this track back in September. That was her only placing from six starts but she can show up against this company. 7. Mamma Mia has been in the placings in her latest two starts at Nowra and has the talent to give this a shake, while 6. Like Anything was a Hawkesbury placegetter back in May and will be better for one run back from a spell.
How to play it: Ridgeback WIN.

Racing heads back to Wyong on Sunday.

Race 2

3. Hibiki Harmony has struck form again of late having won her latest two starts in good style at Muswellbrook. She has led throughout to win both those races and should race on the speed again here and take plenty of running down. 2. Hardpoint resumed from a spell with a second at Kembla Grange and followed that up with a down the track effort as favourite at the same track last time out. He can improve here. 5. Invasive Dreams hit the line well to finish fourth at Gosford when last produced and must be considered. 7. Bearings is resuming on the back of a trial win and is capable of sprinting well fresh.
How to play it: Hibiki Harmony WIN.

Race 3

1. Chisholm finished second in her first two starts at Flemington and Morphettville Parks either side of a spell late last year and early this year. She was then spelled again and returned with a third as favourite at Newcastle. She looks to have the ability to be breaking her maiden in this. 2. Daring Fellow is on debut after a number of trials and won the latest of them at Randwick. 5. Misty Veil was placed at her only start at Newcastle in June and resumes here after two trials. 8. Litigate was midfield at Warwick Farm on debut and was spelled after that run. She’s a recent Rosehill trial winner.
How to play it: Chisholm WIN.

Race 4

1. Lightning Glory had trialled well twice before making his debut at Newcastle and doing the job well to score. He stepped up to city grade when fifth at Randwick at his second start but will find this an easier assignment. 2. Bold And Blazen led throughout when scoring a surprise win at Gosford last time out and can give cheek again. 6. Felis Chaus was a maiden winner at Canberra four starts ago and is not the worst in this line-up. 3. Rhegion resumes from a spell here and was a maiden winner at Kembla Grange in March.
How to play it: Lightning Glory WIN.

Race 5

2. Mignonette is a well-bred mare by Zoustar out of Catkins and won a maiden at Newcastle at her second start in May this year. She was then just behind the placings in two city starts before being spelled. She resumed with a sixth at Kembla Grange and is ready to peak now. 3. Fast Track wasn’t beaten far when resuming with a fourth at Hawkesbury and can figure prominently again. 1. I Am Brave finished fifth in the same race Mignonette contested last time, while 4. Oh Deer has ability and can get into the placings.
How to play it: Mignonette WIN.

Race 6

1. Composed ran well when finishing fourth on debut at Hawkesbury and backed that up with a second at the same track at his only other start. He is primed to run well again here. 6. Emery ran well when a second-up third at Hawkesbury and can be prominent again. 5. Stakeholder is on debut after two trials and a bold showing is on the cards. 2. Curado is also on debut and has won all three trials in preparation.
How to play it: Composed WIN.

Race 7

9. Super Freds hit the line well to score at Scone two starts ago and then followed that up with another strong finishing effort when second at Muswellbrook. He should get a good run from an ideal draw here and be hitting the line well again. 2. Bremel won two on end at Hawkesbury and Kembla Grange earlier in the year and then resumed with a ninth at Eagle Farm. This looks more suitable. 1. Oceans One scored a good last start win at Wyong and can be in the thick of things again. 6. Victorella is resuming from a long spell after a trial and bears close watching.
How to play it: Super Freds EACH WAY.

Race 8

5. Mediaro did the job well when third-up from a spell on the Beaumont track at Newcastle at his latest start when scoring a strong win. There’s no reason he can’t go on with the job in this. 8. Up And Comer is a last start Wyong placegetter that can be a leading player in this field, while 1. Casino Bear won the Wyong event that Up And Comer contested and should be thereabouts again. 2. Dr Evil is honest and can figure without surprising.
How to play it: Mediaro EACH WAY.
