Selections based on a good track
Race 1
3. McTominay has been racing well with four placings from just seven starts including a couple of placings on each of his two starts at the Sapphire Coast and Canberra since resuming from a spell. He only needs to maintain that form to be hard to hold out against this company. 5. Super Nic ran well when second at this track two starts ago and backed that up with a solid last start fourth here. He can show up while in his current form. 8. Cayman Island is an on-speed runner that has finished second in his latest two starts at Albury and can give plenty of cheek again. 9. Belnera has also been placed in a couple of recent Albury runs and should be prominent again despite the wide barrier.
How to play it: McTominay WIN.

Race 2
2. Rose Aye has a great record with a win and five second placings from just the seven starts. She won her maiden at Nowra in good style back in February and was spelled after a second in the Guineas Prelude at this track back in April. She’s drawn well and can return as a winner. 4. Donegal Bay was a winner at this track before being spelled and resumed with a solid fourth at Albury. He should be improved for this. 5. One Run Won justified favouritism to score at Orange at his second start and warrants respect, while 1. Guru Two is consistent and is set to perform well fresh.
How to play it: Rose Aye WIN.
Race 3
7. Teylu has been racing in great form having won at Gundagai and this track at his latest two starts. He’s drawn well here and gets his chance to make it three wins on the trot. 8. Explosive Rosie was close-up when a resuming fourth at Albury and should be better for that run. 2. Tap ‘N’ Run is classy at best with a good overall record and ran well when placed at Canberra last time out. 1. Matthew Flinders is resuming from a spell and a bold fresh run over this trip wouldn’t surprise.
How to play it: Teylu WIN.
Race 4
1. Loving Mandy is a talented mare resuming from a spell on the back of a third in a Wangaratta jump-out. She is a Moonee Valley winner with a good record and has rarely been far from the action. 5. Brenlyn’s Legacy ran second at Wodonga on debut earlier in the year and since resuming has won at that track and at Albury. He is talented and should make an impact again. 4. Baggage Handler has been placed in both runs since resuming and another forward showing is expected. 3. Ditterich is a last start Orange placegetter that warrants respect.
How to play it: Loving Mandy EACH WAY.
Race 5
3. Pride Of Jezza has found form of late having won two of his last four starts with both victories being at this track. He was strong over the mile last time out and the step up to the 1800m looks perfect. 8. Midnight Affair has been placed at the Sapphire Coast and Canberra at her latest two starts and should be thereabouts again, while 9. Miss Defy is a last start Canberra winner with claims. 7. Dreamstone can improve on a last start down the track Wodonga effort.
How to play it: Pride Of Jezza WIN.
Race 6
6. Associate looked good winning at Hawkesbury at his latest start and is a galloper that has always shown his share of talent. He looks suited here and can go on with the job. 5. Mathrin has been racing well with a Canberra win before a second at Queanbeyan when last produced and another bold showing can be expected. 1. Indispensable has finished third in his latest two starts at Tatura and Werribee and has bright place prospects again. 2. Good Prize ran last in the Nowra Cup a week and a half ago but will find this easier.
How to play it: Associate WIN.
Race 7

1. Pyrolysis was placed at Gosford and Warwick Farm earlier in the year and has finished second in two more runs at Canterbury and Gosford since resuming. She should race on the speed here and take a power of beating. 4. Mysterious Master was third on the Beaumont track at his fourth start in a race and has the talent to give this a shake. 7. Ring Of Fire has run well in both starts and has claims, while 3. Extreme Courage ran second at Wyong when resuming and has place claims.
How to play it: Pyrolysis WIN.
Race 8
12. Freddy’s Shock has been placed in both runs at this track since resuming from a spell and is ready to peak here and break through with another win. 3. Tycoon Artie accounted for Freddy’s Shock when they last clashed and another bold showing is on the cards with him being back in form. 5. Divron scored an upset win at Albury when last produced and can show up again on the strength of that. 2. Menzah One hasn’t been too far away of late and shouldn’t be underestimated.
