Selections based on a soft track.

Race 1

1. Autumn Heir was midfield at Gosford when last produced. He’s been placed in two of 12 starts and they were at Canberra and Moruya in September. He only needs to maintain that form to be hard to hold out in this company. 3. Purple Prince has been racing well with placings on the Beaumont track at Newcastle and at Quirindi at his past two starts and warrants respect again. 5. Cold Fusion is yet to be placed in four starts but can improve in this. 7. Temple Bells can get into the placings without surprising.

How to play it: Autumn Heir WIN.

Race 2

2. Buzz Saw has only had four starts and after failing to fire in his first run he has been placed in each of three subsequent runs. He raced on the speed and fought on well when a last start second at Kempsey and looks to be knocking on the door to score a breakthrough win here. 11. Vantorix is a two-year-old on debut here on the back of a trial win and bears close watching from a good stable. 8. Varazze was placed in the same race Buzz Saw contested last time out and warrants respect again. 4. Birdy Girl has been racing well with five placings from six starts and should show up again.

How to play it: Buzz Saw WIN.

Race 3

10. Daddy’s Girl is resuming from a spell and has had two trials in preparation since joining the Kris Lees stable. She’s won one from 12 and has been placed in a further three runs and is a daughter of So You Think that should handle this trip. 9. Khant Fail raced on the speed and fought on well for a last-start second and can be thereabouts again with a repeat. 4. Venom Wolf won well at Coffs Harbour two starts ago and was just behind the placings at Port Macquarie when last produced. 3. Secret Keeper is talented on his day and isn’t out of this.

How to play it: Daddy’s Girl EACH WAY.

Race 4

4. Trounce is lightly raced with just the three starts to her name. She ran second at Gunnedah at her second start in a race in May and was spelled following that event. She resumed with a fourth at Hawkesbury when hitting the line well and looks primed to breakthrough with a maiden win in this event. 1. Call Me Basil trialled well before debuting with a third at this track and can show up again with a repeat of that effort. 2. Maximum Ride was close-up when a last-start fourth at Gosford and warrants thought here, while 14. Flame Of Fire wasn’t far away at Port Macquarie last time out and has place claims.

How to play it: Trounce WIN.

Race 5

2. Mosgiel Daisy settled back in the field before making a charge in the straight to score an impressive last-start win at Kempsey. Mollie Fitzgerald was aboard in that event, and she sticks with the galloper, and another bold showing is on the cards. 4. Fox Reign clashed with Mosgiel Daisy when a last-start second at Kempsey and should be in the thick of things again with a repeat of that effort. 1. Golden Honour ran home well when a last start fourth at Port Macquarie and has the ability to give this a shake. 3. Warrant was down the track in the same event Golden Honour contested last time out and can improve here without surprising.

How to play it: Mosgiel Daisy WIN.

Race 6

1. De Forza is a talented galloper with a good record with three wins and three placings from just the 10 starts. He scored in good style at this track two starts ago and was midfield in a Highway event at Rosehill when last produced. This event looks made to order for him. 3. Four Degrees won two on end at Inverell and Dubbo before being spelled and resumed with a solid second at Armidale when not beaten far. He is set to run well again here. 2. Edge Of Midnight was back to his best form when scoring a last start win at Port Macquarie and only needs to maintain that form to be hard to hold out again. 6. Get Some Fun was just behind the placings in a Highway at Rosehill last time out and should show up against these.

How to play it: De Forza WIN.

Race 7

2. What A Rush raced on the speed and did the job well to score at Port Macquarie three starts ago. She was then midfield at Grafton before racing well again when leading and finishing third at Kempsey at her latest start. She should race on the speed here and take plenty of running down. 1. Love Child resumes from a spell here and was racing well before the break with a win at Muswellbrook before a midfield Highway effort at Randwick. 3. Mr Trackside wasn’t beaten too far at Wyong last weekend and has claims here, while 10. So You Suggest wasn’t beaten far last time out and can show up without surprising.

How to play it: What A Rush WIN.

Best Bets: Race 6 (1) De Forza.

Race 7 (2) What A Rush.

Best Value: Race 3 (10) Daddy’s Girl.
