Police are investigating after a man was found with a suspected gunshot wound in Melbourne’s east this afternoon.
Nine News reports a gunman remains on the run, and no arrests have been made.
Officers have been told the man was seen arguing with another man in a supermarket carpark in Bayswater just before 4pm, and is now in hospital with serious injuries.

Footage from the scene shows what appears to be a man in a V-necked polo shirt, smeared with blood. Police have cordoned off a carpark outside a Coles supermarket and a block of units.
A witness told Channel Nine he heard a cracking sound, and turned to see a black BMW with no number plates speeding through the carpark.
“That’s when I heard some bloke holding his stomach in his hands say ‘Call a f---ing ambulance’.”
Paramedics confirmed they took the man to hospital, but did not disclose which hospital.
