Emergency services were called to the scene after the stabbing was reported at about 15:45 GMT
One man has died and a teenage boy is in a critical condition after they were stabbed following an altercation at a skate park.
Northamptonshire Police have launched a murder investigation after emergency services were called to Briar Hill Skate Park in Northampton at about 15:45 GMT on Wednesday.
The force said a man in his 20s was pronounced dead at the scene and a teenage boy was taken to hospital with "life-threatening" injuries.
"Four people have been arrested in connection with the incident and remain in police custody at this time. Two teenage boys, a man and a woman all from Northampton," police said.
The park has been closed until further notice while an investigation takes place, and members of the public have been urged to avoid the area. A number of nearby roads have also been affected.
The force said it would have an increased presence, including high-visibility patrols, in the area to offer reassurance and support to the community.
The investigation is said to be "fast-moving", however, witnesses or anyone with relevant information - including CCTV, doorbell or mobile phone footage - have been urged to contact the force "as a matter of urgency".
West Northamptonshire Council said it was "shocked and saddened" by the incident and also encouraged people to come forward with any information.
