Former Test cricket captain Michael Clarke is selling his Vaucluse home of four years, days after purchasing another mansion in the ritzy suburb for about $20 million.

The five-bedroom, five-bathroom abode for sale was snapped up by Clarke for $13.01 million in 2021, and has since undergone a renovation.

Bill Malouf of Highland Double Bay holds the listing alongside Emma Potter, and when asked for the price guide referenced comparable sales in the suburb from the “high teens to early $20 millions”.

It has been renovated by the cricket podcaster, with an updated Mediterranean-style kitchen and swanky lower-level entertainment zone.

There is also a pool and Tuscan-style cabana with fireplace that’s surrounded by lush hedging.

It’s not the first time Clarke has bought and sold in the harbourside enclave, having sold his matrimonial home with ex-wife Kyly Clarke for $12 million in 2021. The pair purchased that five-bedroom house for $8.3 million in 2014.

The cricket star’s new home was bought last week for about $20 million, local sources revealed. It’s understood he was drawn to the mansion for its north-facing championship tennis court.

The three-storey house is a double-brick and concrete build on more than 1000 square metres. There is a lower-level rumpus and media zone with a gym that opens directly to the pool, terrace and gardens.

Other luxury additions include a custom cocktail bar, Calacatta marble kitchen and a grand entry hall with a circular ceiling and sculptural staircase.

Records show the home last sold for $7 million in 2007. Malouf sold the home to Clarke with The Agency’s co-founder Steven Chen. They were guiding $20 million.
