A man whose female carer was found dead at his house was involved in an alleged police chase and crash just before his arrest hundreds of kilometres from home.
Family of the 46-year-old carer had reported the woman missing about 1am on Monday, and investigating police travelled to the house on Waterford Tamborine Road home in Buccan, Logan, where they found her body on the back deck.

The 36-year-old man who lived at the property was not there when police arrived.
Officers tracked him to northern NSW, and police from that state attempted to stop him near Coffs Harbour about 3pm.
He allegedly refused to stop, and a high-speed chase continued about 80 kilometres through Valla, Nambucca Heads, Macksville, Warrell Creek, and Eungai Creek.
The driver crashed into a culvert at Stuarts Point Road in Yarrahapinni, where he was arrested.
He was taken to Kempsey Police Station and hit with charges related to the pursuit.
The man had not been charged with any offences linked to the woman’s death on Tuesday morning.
A crime scene was declared at the Logan home, and forensic police remained at the scene late into Monday night.
“The man is expected to face court in NSW [on Tuesday] and detectives … will be travelling to speak to [him],” a Queensland police spokesperson said.
“Police will await results of a post-mortem examination to determine the cause of the woman’s death.”

Logan district Acting Detective Inspector Justin Anderson said SES workers would search the five-acre Buccan property, including a dam.
“We’ll be looking for anything that may assist in bringing us answers as to what has happened leading up to this woman’s death,” Anderson said.
Queensland Police Minister Dan Purdie said the sudden death was a “tragic circumstance” and the homicide squad was involved in the investigation.
