Man allegedly Tasered by Lamarre-Condon now on the run from police

A man who launched a now-withdrawn civil claim centred on a former police officer accused of murdering Sydney couple Jesse Baird and Luke Davies did not show up to a domestic violence and assault trial, and is now on the run from police.

Kris Lovelock, 37, was Tasered by Beau Lamarre-Condon in a Paddington park in 2020. He made headlines earlier this year for lodging the claim against NSW Police over the incident.

Footage from Lamarre-Condon’s police-worn body cam at the time showed Lovelock being Tasered several times as he lay on the ground.

Lamarre-Condon is accused of murdering 26-year-old television presenter Baird and 29-year-old Qantas flight attendant Davies with his police-issued gun in a terrace house in Sydney’s eastern suburbs in February 2024.

The 30-year-old has pleaded not guilty to both murders and will fight the charges in a trial listed for September next year.

Lamarre-Condon was investigated internally by NSW police over the Taser incident but was cleared of wrongdoing.

He was later fired from the police force following his arrest over the alleged murders.

Lovelock has since withdrawn the civil claim against police over the Taser incident.

The Herald can reveal that Lovelock was due to face a District Court trial over domestic violence, assault and break-and-enter charges this week but did not turn up for court, triggering a warrant for his arrest.

He was charged with – and had pleaded not guilty to – stalking, contravening an apprehended violence order, aggravated break-and-entering and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

When he did not show up to court on Tuesday, the judge issued an arrest warrant for Lovelock and directed that he be brought before Campbelltown District Court, court records show.

Police on Wednesday appealed for the public’s assistance to find Lovelock, who is wanted on an outstanding warrant in Sydney’s Northern Beaches for assault and domestic violence offences.

“Officers attached to Northern Beaches Police Area Command have released an image of Kris as inquiries continue to locate him,” police said in a statement.

“Kris is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 175cm tall, of thin build, with a receding hairline”.

Police said he is known to frequent the Northern Beaches, Narraweena, Bar Point and Tweed Heads areas and that anyone who sees him is urged not to approach him but to call Triple Zero.

When Lamarre-Condon last faced court in October, he made his first public remarks about the murder allegations in a bizarre outburst.

He told the court he was “remorseful” and “did take accountability” for Baird’s death – with no mention of Davies – but accused NSW Police of corruption during their investigation of him, saying the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) was “partly complicit”.

Lamarre-Condon said he would strongly oppose any application by NSW Police or the DPP for a closed court or a suppression order over his trial, as he wants the public to know “the actual truth of what happened”.

“The truth will always prevail, and I will not be silenced,” he said.

Lovelock’s trial will be suspended until the warrant is executed.
