Canterbury star Lachlan Galvin is prepared to have his hand injury needled in a bid to play in Saturday’s clash with the Warriors.
Galvin will be named in the Bulldogs squad on Tuesday afternoon despite a suspected hand fracture that threatens to sideline him for a clash that will have huge ramifications for the NRL’s top four.
The Bulldogs halfback suffered the hand injury at the 20-minute mark of his grudge match against Wests Tigers on the weekend, but played through the pain of that setback. The 20-year-old is also hampered by an ankle injury, but has told those close to him that he is hopeful of lining up against the Warriors. He is even prepared to have a pain-killing injection to take his place in coach Cameron Ciraldo’s side.
Much of the focus in the lead up to the Tigers clash centred on Galvin, given it was his first game against his former club since his acrimonious departure. The Tigers produced an upset 28-14 win, resulting in the Bulldogs dropping to third spot on the ladder.

The spotlight will again be on Galvin as he races the clock to prove his fitness.
The Bulldogs need a win to keep alive their hopes of a top-two finish, while the Warriors are clinging to fourth spot, just one point above a fast-finishing Penrith.
