Police were called to reports of a collision in the early hours of Sunday morning
Three teenagers and a man in his 50s were killed in a road crash in which five others were also injured, police have said.
Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said two cars were involved in what is believed to have been a head-on crash, which happened at 00:45 GMT in Wigan Road, Bolton.
The force said three men travelling in a red Seat Leon - two aged 18, the other 19 - had died. The driver of the other car, a Citroen C4 Picasso, was also killed.
GMP said the five injured passengers were taken to hospital where they are undergoing treatment.
The scene of the crash has been sealed off.
GMP has appealed for any information about the fatal collision.
