Dean Miller and Sofie Formica have been announced as the new hosts of 4BC Breakfast in 2026, replacing Peter Fegan, who helmed his last show three weeks ago.

The duo will present the show on the talk radio station, which is like this masthead owned by Nine Entertainment, from January 19.

Miller was previously a breakfast host at Triple M, and has appeared on lifestyle TV shows such as Creek to Coast, Queensland Weekender, and The Great South East.

There is yet to be an announcement on who will host the Mornings program next year — a seat left vacant by the departure of Bill McDonald in September — or Afternoons, where Formica had been host for the last four years.

Fegan anchored the 5.30am-9am show for a year, taking over after Laurel Edwards, Gary Clare and Mark Hine left in late 2024.

In a media release, 4BC station manager Siobhain McDonnell said she wanted listeners to start the day with “the latest news, the best conversation, and a smile on their face”.

“Their 20-year friendship is infectious, and it’s time for Brisbane to be invited in,” she said.

The move comes after the show dipped in the latest ratings, with the audience share down to 3.6 per cent from 4.1 per cent. The station’s overall share rose slightly to 5.3 per cent, from its previous 4.8 per cent.

This is the time of year that radio stations reveal their line-ups for the new year, before their usual hosts take breaks over summer.

Last week, it was announced that comedian and writer Craig Low, known professionally as “Lowie”, would take over KIIS97.3’s breakfast show after the shock axing of Robin Bailey, Kip Wightman and former Broncos star Corey Oates.

Nova106.9’s morning offering with Ash, Luttsy & Nikki Osborne is Brisbane’s most listened-to breakfast radio show, with an overall audience share of 13.4 per cent.

It is followed by Stav, Abby & Matt on B105 (12.7 per cent), Marto, Margaux & Dan on Triple M (12.6 per cent) and Loretta Ryan and Craig Zonca on ABC local radio (10.1 per cent).
