Two children are among seven people hurt after two separate crashes on one Sunshine Coast street.
A vehicle with a woman and two children inside crashed with a truck about 11.45am on Thursday along Banya Avenue in Banya, south-west of Caloundra.
One of the children is fighting for life after suffering critical injuries. They were flown by rescue helicopter to Queensland Children’s Hospital.
No life-threatening injuries were reported from the second crash on Banya Avenue on Thursday morning.
The second child has been taken to Sunshine Coast University Hospital.
Another two-vehicle crash occurred about the same time at the intersection of Banya Avenue and Bruny Street.
“No life-threatening injuries have been reported as a result of this separate crash,” police said.
Paramedics assessed seven people in total at both crashes, with the five other people taken to Sunshine Coast University Hospital.
