Businessman Adam Troost has put his contemporary Point Piper apartment on the market with a price guide of $12.5 million, to help fund his car racing dream.
Troost is selling the four-bedroom, three-bathroom unit to focus and help fund his formation of a racing team. There are plans to participate in various classic car racing and rallying events in Europe, the UK and the Mediterranean.
The home was listed in December with a different agency.
Troost purchased the whole-floor residence in a boutique block of five for $10 million in 2021, records show, from David Roseman, a director at a Macquarie Group subsidiary, and his interior designer wife, Sue.
The Rosemans bought the property for $3.9 million in 2006 and did a renovation. Interiors include Tasmanian oak chevron floors, an ornate marble gas fireplace, Calacatta marble, a contemporary gas kitchen and a primary bathroom with a steam room. A fourth bedroom could be made into a study.
Roseman, who is now based in the UK, kept a place nearby, paying $16.6 million in 2021 for the waterfront Point Piper house of investment banker Paul Uren.
In 2023, Roseman settled on an oceanfront property known as Nerimbah Farm for $10.5 million on the NSW South Coast.
The unit for sale has a covered entertainer’s terrace with panoramic Harbour Bridge and city skyline views, access to Seven Shillings Beach, and a shared lounge area with a gym and mosaic-tiled pool on the ground floor.
Point Piper’s market includes notable owners such as tech entrepreneur Scott Farquhar, who paid $130 million for Uig Lodge, media baron Lachlan Murdoch, who bought a $38.5 million boathouse, and former prime minister Malcolm Turnbull. Freight boss Terry Tzaneros, and his wife, Anne, bought a $38 million mansion there in 2021. It’s next door to the $200 million-plus home of Aussie Home Loans founder John Symond.
Brad Pillinger of Pillinger is accepting expressions of interest for Troost’s Point Piper pad.
Architecturally designed Byron Bay home for sale
Philip Corben, the founder of the Corben Architects firm in Sydney, and his interior stylist wife, Lucy Purchas, have put their Byron Bay holiday home on the market with a price guide of $9.6 million to $10.5 million.
The couple bought the address for $3.1 million in 2007, records show, and Philip used his expertise to design a two-level coastal sanctuary with a heated mineral plunge pool and multiple outdoor zones.
There are four bedrooms, three bathrooms, a contemporary kitchen with Caesarstone benchtops, a neutral palette, American oak flooring and clerestory windows.
Stunning views of the northern coastline, lush hinterland and Cape Byron Lighthouse can be seen from the property.
The residence is available to rent. Prices are around $1500 a night or $10,500 a week, as stated on the property’s website, but pricing depends on the time of the year.
Philip founded Corben Architects in 1990 but stepped back from the practice in 2024. He still provides consultancy services and advice on client liaison, business management and marketing, as mentioned on the firm’s website.
The house price record for the Byron Bay region is $36 million. The record-setting, seven-bedroom home sold last year to software entrepreneur Karen Cariss.
Su Reynolds of First National Byron Bay is handling the property campaign for Corben’s home.
Coffee king hopes to brew a deal
Nick Mastro, the founder of Adore Coffee roasters which supplies cafes across Australia, is hoping to brew a sweet deal, listing his Hunters Hill residence with a price guide of $7.8 million to $8.58 million.
The five-bedroom, four-bathroom property was bought by Mastro for $5.7 million in 2017, records show. It offers sweeping north-facing water views across the Lane Cove River to Longueville. A mosaic-tiled pool and lift are premium features.
There are formal and informal living zones, a modern stone gas kitchen with bar seating, a media room, home office, wine cellar and wood-fired pizza oven.
Built-in cabinetry, sheer curtains, a neutral palette and statement lighting adorn the interiors.
The Hunters Hill suburb record of $26.25 million was set in April when settlement documents revealed David Murray, a former chief executive of the Commonwealth Bank, and his wife, Stephanie, sold their six-bedroom, five-bathroom sandstone mansion to a mystery buyer.
Nicholas McEvoy and Alessandro Bandiera of BresicWhitney Hunters Hill are the listing agents for Mastro’s property.
