The BTS comeback is upon us.
The K-pop septet will touch down in Australia in 2027, marking their first major performances Down Under since their Wings Tour in 2017. They will perform two shows in Melbourne on February 12 and 13, followed by two shows in Sydney on February 20 and 21.

The record-breaking group announced their world tour on Wednesday, sharing dates across 2026 and 2027. The tour will kick off in South Korea in April and run through March 2027 with more than 70 shows across Asia, North America, South America, Australia and Europe. They mark the group’s first headline performances since their 2021 to 2022 Permission to Dance on Stage tour, after which they went on a nearly four-year hiatus.
A presale will take place on January 22 and January 23 for ARMY Membership holders who register on Weverse, an online fan platform owned by BTS management company HYBE. A general sale for all regions will follow on January 24.
The news arrives a few weeks after the entertainment company BigHit Music revealed that BTS would make their return on March 20. That’s because all seven members of BTS – RM, Jin, Jimin, V, Suga, Jung Kook and j-hope – had to complete South Korea’s mandatory military service.
Rapper Suga was the last group member to be released, from his duties as a social service agent, an alternative to serving in the military that he reportedly chose due to a shoulder injury. That was in June 2025. The six others, RM, V, Jimin, Jung Kook, Jin and j-hope, served in the army. During their hiatus, each of the members launched successful solo careers.

The return of BTS – one of the best-selling and most widely recognised K-Pop groups in the world – has been highly anticipated by fans for over a year now. The group has reportedly been working on new music in the studio since July, developing an album that will “reflect each member’s thoughts and ideas”.

“We’ve waited more earnestly than anyone else,” RM said at the beginning of the year, with V adding, “In 2026, we’ll make even more good memories, so look forward to it”.
BTS are most recognised for hits like Butter and Dynamite, and were formed in 2010 by entertainment company Big Hit Entertainment (now BigHit Music, a label under HYBE). Their debut single, 2 Cool 4 Skool, landed in 2013, followed by the album, Dark & Wild, in 2014.
Since then, they have released nine studio albums, been nominated for two Grammy Awards, broken 25 Guiness World Records (including most streamed group act on Spotify), and charted four No.1 albums faster than any group since the Beatles.
Their multilingual music (Korean, English and Japanese), and fusion of pop, rap and hip-hop, attracted fans across the world. The profile was such they met with former US president Joe Biden in 2022 to discuss anti-Asian hate crimes.
