By Julius Dennis

A truck carrying wine was part of a multi-vehicle crash on the Pacific Highway at Tanah Merah, south of Brisbane, with police warning drivers to plan alternate routes.

Emergency services were called to the Beenleigh-Redland Bay on-ramp where they found one person trapped in their vehicle at 6.12am.

Ambulance crews reported it was a five-car crash.

Paramedics said one other person suffered minor injuries.

Two northbound lanes and the on-ramp are blocked off and police said there would be significant delays.

Telstra warns some Samsung phones may fail to connect to Triple Zero

By Emily Kaine

Telstra has detected issues for some customers using Samsung phones who have been unable to connect to Triple Zero services.

Australians using certain Samsung phones have been told to urgently update or replace their devices after Telstra reported that the Triple Zero issue affected up to 70 old Samsung models, affecting thousands of Australian customers.

Telstra said the issue was found in 11 older model Samsung Galaxy phones which users would need to replace with newer devices, and about 60 models requiring updates.

The telco said affected customers would be notified via email or SMS, and said legal obligations meant customers who owned models that needed to be replaced would be blocked from its network if their phones were not replaced within 28 days of notification.

“Under the government’s Emergency Service Call Determination, all mobile network operators are required to block devices from their networks that are not configured to access emergency call services,” Telstra posted online.

Brisbane’s weather is a hot topic

A pocket of hot air shunted east from Central Australia has scorched Queensland and NSW, and Brisbane has not gotten off scot-free.

But today’s expected maximum temperature of 34 degrees isn’t the worst of what’s to come.

The weather bureau’s seven-day forecast shows another hot one on Sunday, before Monday looks to be a blazing 38 degrees in the city.

Before then, we’re in for mostly sunny days to see out the week.

And Putin has staged a missile launch to prove his forces are ready for nuclear war, a day after the collapse.
