Qld man’s body returned from Bali with heart missing

By Brittney Deguara

The family of Queensland man Byron Haddow are calling for answers after learning his body was returned from Bali with an organ missing.

The 23-year-old had been found deceased in the plunge pool of his Bali villa in May.

The Noosa FIFO worker was in the country on holiday at the time.

A push for an investigation into his sudden death resulted in a delay in repatriating his remains.

A second autopsy by the Queensland coroner then discovered his heart was missing.

“They just rung us to ask if we were aware that his heart was retained over in Bali,” mum Chantal Haddow told Nine News.

The details around why Haddow’s heart had been removed remained unclear and the heart was sent back to Australia following his funeral.

Albanese will ‘wait and see’ on Trump meeting

By Daniel Lo Surdo

Anthony Albanese has said he will “wait and see” on the potential of a meeting with President Donald Trump while in the US this week, saying it was a “busy time” on his trip as he prepares to attend an event hosted by Trump on Tuesday night (local time).

Speaking in New York hours after recognising Palestinian statehood at the United Nations, Albanese said a meeting would build on the “really constructive” phone calls the leaders have shared since Trump returned to the White House in January. “Oh look, we’ll wait and see,” Albanese told Nine’s Today.

“I’ll be seeing him ... at the event that he is hosting that I’ve been invited to, we will sit down at some stage and have a face-to-face meeting.”

Trump is in Phoenix, Arizona, to attend the memorial service for Charlie Kirk today, complicating the potential for a meeting with Albanese.
