The powerhouse stable of Bjorn Baker will be in action at Coonamble on Sunday with the Warwick Farm trainer having two leading contenders in action.
Baker will start form galloper Mawjood in the $75,000 Qube Agri Coonamble Gold Showcase Cup (1600m), with the event carrying eligibility for the Big Dance at Randwick on November 4.
The trainer will also start Alabama Charm in the Dad N Dave Turf/Southern Cross Turf/Elite Sand & Soil/Evergreen Turf Super Maiden Showcase Handicap (1300m).
Jockey Winona Costin will partner both gallopers.

Mawjood is a three-time winner from 13 starts with a further five placings. Previously trained by Michael, Wayne and John Hawkes, Mawjood has had two starts since joining the Baker stable for a resuming third at Canterbury and a last start Rosehill victory in midweek company.
“He’s been a handy horse for the stable to pick up,” Baker said of Mawjood.
“He had a good record with the Hawkes team and then trialled well for us leading into his first-up run at Canterbury.
“He ran well in that event when beaten less than a length in a small field. Then he went right on with the job to score easily at Rosehill.
“He’s on the up and the step-up to the mile in the Coonamble Cup looks ideal for him now.”

Alabama Charm is a lightly raced filly that has only had five starts. Baker thought enough of her to start her in the Gimcrack Stakes this time last year, a race in which she finished 13th. He immediately spelled her after that, and she had four starts in the autumn.
“She ran a couple of solid placings at Newcastle and Gosford and then ran very well when finishing second in the Wellington Boot,” said Baker.
“We stepped her up in grade again in the Percy Sykes Stakes at The Championships and she was only beaten a bit over six lengths in that with Tempted winning it. Tempted is heading towards The Everest so that form looks pretty good for a maiden at Coonamble on Sunday.”
