A baby is in a critical condition at the Gold Coast University Hospital after a car struck a pram and a 60-year-old woman.
Shortly before 6pm on Wednesday, police were called to the intersection of River Run Court and Oakover Avenue in Ormeau Hills at the Gold Coast.
The woman, a local to the area, and infant were hospitalised. Police said the 60-year-old was in a stable condition, and the baby remained “critical but stable”.
The baby was transferred to the paediatric ward for treatment on Thursday morning.
The driver, a 26-year-old woman also from Ormeau Hills, remained on the scene after the crash.
She was assisting police with inquiries on Thursday morning, although no charges had been laid.
Officers said investigations were continuing and urged anyone with dashcam or CCTV footage of the area about 6pm on Wednesday – or who might have seen the crash – to come forward.
