A sprawling new luxury resort planned north of Brisbane will “transform” the area into Queensland’s next big tourism hotspot, according to the developer.
The $250 million Sandstone Point expansion in Moreton Bay will comprise two new 10-story buildings and more than 200 rooms next to the Pumicestone Passage.

A separate retail and entertainment area is also included in the masterplan, with restaurants, a bowling alley, shops and Tourism Information Centre.
Built by The Comiskey Group, the complex would expand on the existing Sandstone Point Hotel and Holiday Resort.
“It’s been years in the making,” director Rob Comiskey told 4BC on Thursday morning.
“It’s probably one of the biggest investments in south-east Queensland.

“It’s a big risk, but we think it’s going to be successful.”
The site’s existing concert space – which has become increasingly popular in recent years – and underground parking will be upgraded.
The company says it hopes the project will be completed in time for the 2032 Olympic Games in Queensland.
“[This is] set to transform the destination into Queensland’s next premier tourism hub,” the developer said in a statement.
